Services – There will be a Communion Service at 09.30 am on Sunday 22nd January at St. Peter’s, Tankersley.  Services at St. Paul’s, Pilley are temporarily suspended due to on-going roof repairs.

St. Peter’s Church Coffee Morning was held last Saturday with £320 raised for Church funds.

Age UK – Healthy Living sessions for the over 50’s are held between 1000 and 1200 hours on Wednesday mornings in The Welfare Hall of The Hub.  Activities include armchair exercise and healthy eating. Contact Karen Dennis on 01226 776820 for more details.

TPEG – are organising the first community litter pick of the year on Saturday 21st. January (weather permitting). Meet at either Tankersley School or at the Hub (Welfare Hall) from 10am to collect equipment. It would be great to see some new faces, young, or not so young, coming out to improve our local environment.  Gloves, litter pickers, hoops and plastic sacks provided.

The weekly coffee afternoon is held at the Hub on Tuesdays between 1300 and 1430. Refreshments, bingo, raffle and a chat – no age limit – open to everyone.

Tankersley Community Association – a ‘Review of 2022’ has now been posted on the TCA website.

Neighbourhood Plan – a display and awareness raising event is scheduled for Sunday 12th February in Tankersley Hub.  Members of the public can comment and make suggestions about how the Parish should develop in the future.  Residents are asked to give some thought to issues such as local planning, provision of amenities, road safety, crime prevention, environmental issues etc.  Further details will be published.

King’s Coronation – a working group is being established to consider how Pilley and Tankersley can celebrate the King’s Coronation.  An initial meeting is being organised at The Hub at  6.00 pm on Tuesday 24th January. The Hub Tuck Shop is now closed for the winter period.

Tankersley Community Green – The former bowling green is now being managed by Tankersley Community Association and is available to hire for outdoor events.  Details are available from the Secretary.
