Steve has recently joined the TCA, having prior to this, helping on an ad hoc basis.
Steve and his wife Anne are relatively new to the area, having moved onto the ‘Castle Vale, estate in 2019, soon after their marriage. Very soon after Covid took hold and it was a time when everyone was restricted on going out but they took the opportunity to meet their neighbours and fellow villagers on their daily exercise during the lockdown.
Steve originally came from Nottinghamshire, but lived in West Yorkshire since 1970. And after some 22 years as an Electrical Engineer with British Gas in Leeds, ran his own Chemical Sales business for 4 years followed by becoming a Sub-postmaster and running a Post Office up to his retirement in 2012.
Steve is a member of De Lacy Motor Club of Pontefract, where he is the Club Treasurer, and is involved in rallying and is one of the main organisers of their Heritage Classic car run. He also attends St Peter’s Church in Tankersley and St Pauls in Pilley, where he may also be seen cutting the grass around the church buildings.
