Services – There will be a service at Tankersley St. Peter’s Church this Sunday at 0930.  No service at St. Paul’s, Pilley this week.

Age UK – Healthy Living sessions for the over 50’s are held between 1000 and 1200 hours on Wednesday mornings in The Welfare Hall of The Hub.  Activities include armchair exercise and healthy eating. Contact Karen Dennis on 01226 776820 for more details.

Tankersley Community Association – the coffee afternoon continues at 1300 hours on Tuesdays.  Everyone welcome for refreshments, bingo and a chat.  TCA would like to invite anyone interested in becoming involved with the running of the organisation to contact the Secretary on 07989484050.

Tankersley St. Peter’s School – the amazing team at Tankersley St. Peter’s wanted to raise money for cancer research as one of the members of staff has been touched by cancer this year.  A pink day in school was held where the children had pink ice-cream and wore bright colours.  The staff were also slightly coerced into doing the race for life at Locke Park on Sunday the 2nd of July. They have so far raised £1753 + £357 Gift Aid making a total of £2110 which already far exceeds the target of £900.

Tankersley Senior Citizens Group – invite new members.  Activities include a variety of social events and excursions.  Anyone interested should contact Brian Marsden on 01226 746306 or 07947430259

Whist Drive – the next whist drive will be held in the Hub on Thursday 20th July at 1330 hours.  Everyone welcome – guidance given to new-starters!

The Hub Tuck Shop will be open on 1300 and 1600 hours on weekends and at selected times during the school holidays – weather permitting.  Tea, coffee, soft drinks, ice creams and confectionary all available whilst visiting Pilley Pocket Park.

Tankersley Community Green – The outdoor ‘Cinema on the Green’ event will be held on Saturday 15th July and will show ‘Matilda – The Musical’ in the afternoon and ‘Dirty Dancing’ in the evening. Admission is free but by pre-obtained wrist band.  A range of hot and cold food and drinks will be available throughout the day in the Welfare Hall and on the Green.  Gazebos will be erected to guard against possible inclement weather. The former bowling green is now being managed by Tankersley Community Association and is available to hire for outdoor events.  Details are available from the Secretary.
