Services – There will be a Service at Tankersley St. Peter’s at 09.30 am on Sunday 19th March.  There will not be a service at Paul’s, Pilley.

Age UK – Healthy Living sessions for the over 50’s are held between 1000 and 1200 hours on Wednesday mornings in The Welfare Hall of The Hub.  Activities include armchair exercise and healthy eating. Contact Karen Dennis on 01226 776820 for more details.

Whist Drive – Thursday 23rd March at 1330 in the Senior Citizens Room of The Hub.  Newcomers very welcome!

Parish Council – all 9 Parish Council seats are available for election from May 2023. Nomination packs and copies of the electoral roll can be obtained from Electoral Services – The email address is electoralservices@barnsley.gov.uk.  Applications have to be submitted to Barnsley MBC between 28th March and 1600 hours on 4th April. The next Parish Council meeting will be held in The Hub at 1900 hours on Monday 20th March.

The weekly coffee afternoon is held at the Hub on Tuesdays between 1300 and 1430. Refreshments, bingo, raffle and a chat – no age limit – open to everyone.

King’s Coronation – Plans for the forthcoming King’s Coronation are now well in-place.  There will be a ‘Picnic in the Park’ event on Sunday 7th May with children’s attractions, demonstrations, stalls and live music followed by an ‘early evening’ social with live band ‘Zealots’.  For those in good voice there will be a ‘Sing for the King’ karaoke session! It is hoped the event will be outdoors in the Community Green and Pilley Pocket Park. Picnic Boxes will be available to order.  There will be a Royal themed activities day in and around St. Peter’s Church on Monday 8th May. Coronation Scarecrow Competition – Residents in the villages of Pilley and Tankersley are being encouraged to make and display a ‘Royal Scarecrow’ outside their homes from 28th April.  In addition a ‘best decorated house’ competition will also be held.  They will be judged with prizes awarded for the winners.  More details will be announced later.

Spring Fair – St. Peter’s Church Spring Fair will be held in The Hub on Saturday 18th March between 1100 and 1300 hours.

The Hub Tuck Shop is now closed for the winter period.

Tankersley Community Green – The former bowling green is now being managed by Tankersley Community Association and is available to hire for outdoor events.  Details are available from the Secretary.
