Services – There will be a service at St. Peter’s Tankersley at 09.30 on Sunday 25th September and at St Paul’s Pilley at 4.00 pm.

The Book of Condolence in memory of Queen Elizabeth II situated in St Peter’s Church, Tankersley was signed by 124 residents.  Many others attended the Church for private prayer and reflection.

Afternoon Tea – resumes as normal at 13.00 hours on Tuesday 27th.September.  Everyone welcome.

Tankersley Parish Council – The monthly meeting will be held for Monday 26th September and will be held in the Senior Citizens Room of The Hub at 7.00 pm.

The Annual Tankersley Parish Bonfire and Firework Display will be held on Saturday 5th November.

Harvest Social Event – held in Tankersley Hub (Welfare Hall) on Tuesday 20th September attracted more than 70 visitors. Harvest platters were served between 4.00 and 6.00 p.m.  All proceeds to the Church funds.

Age UK – Healthy Living sessions for the over 50’s are held between 1000 and 1200 hours on Wednesday mornings in The Welfare Hall of The Hub.  Activities include armchair exercise and healthy eating. Contact Karen Dennis on 01226 776820 for more details

Tankersley Welfare Hall is now re-branded as ‘Tankersley Hub’ with the launch of a web site – visit www.tankersleyhub.com for hiring and contact details and a calendar of upcoming events.  Details of future events will be publicised.

Byegone Bikes Yorkshire will be holding a sale of vintage cycles and accessories in the Hub on Sunday 9th October. Doors open at 0900 hours. Everyone welcome to view some interesting memorabilia – refreshments available.

Youth Football Coaching Session will resume on Monday 26th September on the Bowling Green at 6.00 pm.  Contact John Thornton on 07718353020 for more details.

Halloween Children’s Party – Tankersley Community Association are holding an event in The Hub similar to last year’s very popular Halloween Party on Saturday 29th October.  A children’s entertainer has been booked and a Halloween fancy dress competition will be held. A carved pumpkin competition will be held on the Bowling Green from 17.00 hours before the main party.  A licensed bar will be available for adults.  Admission is £2.00 per head by pre-purchased wrist band which are available from David Crossley – phone 07970818575.  Tickets are going fast – so book early!

The Hub Tuck Shop will now open on weekends only following the end of the school summer holidays.  Refreshments available for all to enjoy.   Card payments are now accepted! Opening times will be 1300 to 1600 hours.
