Services – Tankersley St. Peter’s Church will be open for private prayer and reflection on Good Friday between 2.00 pm and 3.00 pm.  There will also be an Easter Service on Sunday 9th April at 9.30 and the normal service at St. Paul’s, Pilley at 4.00 pm.  Pilley Methodist Church will be open on Good Friday from 12.00 pm with the Easter Celebration Service being led by Barbara Tewson held on Sunday 9th at 3.00 pm.

Age UK – Healthy Living sessions for the over 50’s are held between 1000 and 1200 hours on Wednesday mornings in The Welfare Hall of The Hub.  Activities include armchair exercise and healthy eating. Contact Karen Dennis on 01226 776820 for more details.

Parish Council – The next Parish Council meeting will be held on Monday 17th April at 7.00 pm.

Tankersley Community Association – there will be a meeting at 6.00 pm on Tuesday 11th April.

There will not be a coffee afternoon in the Hub on Tuesday 11th April but it will resume on the following week.

Whist Drive – the next whist drive will be held on Thursday 20th April – all welcome.  No experience necessary!

King’s Coronation – Plans for the forthcoming King’s Coronation are now well in-place.  An information leaflet giving details of events will be delivered to all households shortly.  There will be a ‘Picnic in the Park’ event on Sunday 7th May with children’s attractions, demonstrations, stalls and live music followed by an ‘early evening’ social with live band ‘Zealots’.  For those in good voice there will be a ‘Sing for the King’ karaoke session! It is hoped the event will be outdoors in the Community Green and Pilley Pocket Park. Picnic Boxes will be available to order.  There will be a Royal themed activities day in and around St. Peter’s Church on Monday 8th May. Coronation Scarecrow Competition – Residents in the villages of Pilley and Tankersley are being encouraged to make and display a ‘Royal Scarecrow’ outside their homes from 28th April.  In addition a ‘best decorated house’ competition will also be held.  They will be judged with prizes awarded for the winners.  Entries can be made through coronationscarecrows2023@gmail.com

The Hub Tuck Shop will be open on Saturday 8th until Monday 10th April between 1300 and 1600 hours – weather permitting.  Tea, coffee, soft drinks, ice creams and confectionary all available whilst visiting Pilley Pocket Park.

Tankersley Community Green – The former bowling green is now being managed by Tankersley Community Association and is available to hire for outdoor events.  Details are available from the Secretary.
