Every week the Barnsley Chronicle contains local events that are happening. We will start to add them on this site – see the news from last weeks paper below

 

Services – There will be a service at St. Peter’s Tankersley at 09.30 on Sunday 28th August and at St Paul’s Pilley at 4.00 pm.  There will be a service at Pilley Methodist Church at 3.00 p.m. led by Mrs. Ellie Peat.

Village Link – all welcome to Pilley Methodist Church on Thursday 4th September for tea, coffee and biscuits between 2.00 and 4.00 p.m.

Afternoon Tea continues on Tuesdays at 1300 hours in the Senior Citizens Room of The Hub – everyone is welcome for refreshments, bingo, raffle and a chat.

TPEG (Environment Group) – continue their good work are are keen to welcome new volunteers to contribute to the ongoing projects including: – monthly litter picks (Wednesday and Saturday), Dipping Pond maintenance and path clearance throughout the village. Harvest Social Event – harvest platters served between 4.00 and 6.00 p.m. followed by live entertainment and licensed bar from 7.00 p.m.  Tickets available from Janet on 01226 744140 or Joy on 01226 745522.  Takeaway platters can be pre-ordered!

Age UK – Healthy Living sessions for the over 50’s are held between 1000 and 1200 hours on Wednesday mornings in The Welfare Hall of The Hub.  Activities include armchair exercise and healthy eating. Contact Karen Dennis on 01226 776820 for more details

Tankersley Welfare Hall is now re-branded as ‘Tankersley Hub’ with the launch of a web site – visit www.tankersleyhub.com for hiring and contact details and a calendar of upcoming events.  Details of future events will be publicised.

The Hub Tuck Shop is now open on weekends and during the week in-line with the school summer holidays.  Refreshments available for all to enjoy.   Card payments are now accepted! Opening times will be 1300 to 1600 hours.

The Hub Conservatory – now fully refurbished and worth a look.
